Capturing the Beauty

With over 20,000 individual items, comprising programmes, posters, photographs, films, books, press cuttings and dance memorabilia (including dance costumes and dance shoes) the extent of the digitisation project proved challenging.

A decision was made early on to outsource the audio and audio-visual material due to the vast quantity and duration of the recordings. Images were captured using in-house camera and scanners as high resolution TIFFs and labelled to correspond with the physical item identification system (e.g. N64/1/2).
