Dance is Movement
By its very nature dance is based on movement and capturing that moving image and making it more accessible is what will stimulate a far reaching interest in this collection. As such, making the audio-visual material available is an important next step and there is a limited time frame available to digitise aging video content before quality is compromised.
There are copyright issues with placing published and photographic material from the Archive online and best effort is made to ensure compliance. However, performance film is also hugely problematic in this regard and preparation for these items will require further consideration.
